While I don’t own too many colorful articles of clothing to begin with (I am in New York, after all!), lately I’ve been leaning towards the minimal, monochrome black and white staple pieces in my wardrobe. One of my main reasons for doing so? Monochromatic clothing allows for a seamless transition from day to night! Spontaneous after-work plans have never been so easy to accept.
To add a little flair to a monochrome outfit, I like to accessorize with a splash of color. No better way to demonstrate than with today’s ensemble! I wore a white tank with a black wide leg cropped pant, and chose a few of my favorite colorful accessories to finish the look.
As I mentioned in last week’s post, I am always wearing a pair of sunnies during the day — so these orange and yellow mirrored reflection lenses provided the perfect pop of color. As for my bag, I absolutely LOVE this one (pun intended!). The black croc is chic, and the lego letters add even more fun and flavor.
Lastly, my shoes. I just can’t take my eyes off of these (I’m so punny today, I know!). The detail of the eyes on the back of the heel with the matching colors on the front strap is undeniably impeccable. Have I mentioned they are so comfortable, too? Swoon!
So there you have it! A simple way to add a splash of color to your next monochromatic or black and white outfit. See just how my look turned out, and tag me on Instagram when you try it out yourself!
